Rex Killian

Rex Killian, 62, of Murphy died August 29, 2014. He was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County. Rex was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was a carpenter and a member of the Bates Creek Baptist Church.
 
He was the son of Coy Timpson Killian of Murphy and the late Fred V. Killian.
 
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two sons, Gavin Killian and wife, Ashley of Hayesville, and Chris Killian of Raleigh, North Carolina; four sisters, Ruth Anderson, Joanne Taylor, and Lavean Killian all of Murphy, and Anita Ellis of Kansas; three brothers, Steve, Ted, and Jeff Killian all of Murphy; and two grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Becca Killian.

My prayers and sympathies to the surviving family members.

Sadly, the class of '71 has lost another family member.

Rex, you will be missed, and I so regret not ever thanking you for your honorable and courageous military service to our nation.

Willie Bush

I saw Rex back in June or July of this year at some retail location. As always, he and I jumped into conversation. It seemed that 40 plus years never changed our line of communication. I will miss him because it was always so easy to talk with him.Via con dios mi amigo.
